To keep squirrels and raccoons away from your plants and garbage cans, fill a spray bottle with a mixture of white vinegar, cayenne pepper and a little water and then spray it where they're likely to cause trouble.
If you have fruit flies in your house, take a saucer or dish with sides and put some cider vinegar in it with a few drops of dishwashing liquid soap. The combination with attract them away from your fruit.
