Why vinegar in a cake recipe?
Vinegar is an acid, and it reacts with the baking soda to start a chemical reaction that makes the batter rise as it bakes. This is especially important when there are no eggs in the recipe. Dont worry, though, you won't taste the vinegar in the finished product! |
