Anna was born in 1879 and died giving birth prematurely to my father, Richard Wescott Mitchell, July 28, 1921. She was 42 and Richard was her first child. I understand she had complications from hypertension. My father came home on a pillow with little hope for his survival. I'm trying to trace my Grandmother's geneology. Her father might have been Reuben but I'm not sure. Anna's father died in 1919 I think. She was a schoolteacher and graduated from Bridgewater Normal School in Bridgewater MA (c.1909). I think she was born and raised in Gorham ME. It was great to read your work on the Wescott geneology. If you know where we fit in to the line please let me know. Thanks, Lance W. Comments: I am hoping to find info on Abraham Westcott who served in the American Revolution. He is my grandfather.
His daughter married Elijah Weldon, my established patriot for membership in the Daughters of the American
Revolution organization. Are you descended from Abraham? I would much appreciate any information
you might be able to give me about him and his parents. Did they come from England originally? Perhaps I can be of help to you ? I was glad to find you on Google today. Thanks in advance for any info you may give me.

Comments: WOW! You've done a lot of research. My mom and I have been tracing back her lineage which has been a little hard since most of her family is deceased. I know that I am Abraham Lincoln's 9th cousin passed through a bunch of women. The Lincoln name stopped with my Great-Great Grandma Ella Lincoln (married last name - Rock). She married Charlie Rock. Their daughter Minnie Genevieve Rock married Harry Stover. Most of the family have ties to Washington, & Iowa. I've heard that most or all of Abraham's relatives are linked through Josiah Lincoln (his Uncle). Josiah had 10 kids? So, I'm looking there for now. When I'm good and happy with this side of the family I'll look up my Dad's side of the family. Mostly Irish, Polish and a bit of Austrian. This sure gets exhausting, but everytime I find something new I feel restored. The internet nowadays is outstanding. Like I said before: awesome job on your site. If you have any advice or info for me please contact me, I really appreciate it. Heather

Comments: Am looking to the connection between a Rosanna Westcott and John Straight/Strait. Having read conflicting records re Rosanna - some say she was a daughter of Robert Westcott and some Amos. Supposedly she married John Straight 30 May 1705. Could be she was married previously to a Daniel Smith. Any direction you can point me in would be appreciated. Thank you.

Comments: Hi Bill,
Your family and mine intersect in the early 15th century, when Elizabeth de Lyttelton married Thomas Westcote. However, she inisted that her son Thomas take her surname. He went on to become a famous jurist, Sir Thomas de Lyttelton (c. 1407-1481), and the common ancestor of the three main Littleton lines on both sides of the Atlantic. We're currently engaged in a Y-DNA project with FTDNA re the Littleton surname (I'm the project director), and we'd REALLY like to collect a DNA sample from you and/or other Westcotts. I suspect that we'd match pretty closely. Anyway, please drop me a note abouyt this when you have a spare minute. Thanks and
Cheers,
Scotty Littleton
