Mix together:
1 gallon sliced cucumbers
4 medium/large onions
Mix together:
1 tablespoon mustard seed
1 teaspoon turmeric
1/3 cup pickling salt
2 tablespoons celery seed
3 cups sugar
3 cups vinegar
Put everything in a large jar and set in the refrigerator. Shake every morning for a few weeks. Do not peel the cucumbers.
Keeps for a long time, pickles are best after 2 weeks.
