3 cups bran cereal - separated
1 cup boiling water
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening (1/2 oleo)
2 eggs beaten
2 1/2 cups flour
2 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups buttermilk
• Combine 1 cup bran and boiling water. Cool.
• Cream together sugar and shortening and blend in beaten eggs
• Sift flour soda, salt and 2 cups bran.
• Add all 3 groups alternatively with buttermilk
Store in covered jar until ready for use. Fill greased muffin pans about 2/3 full.
Bake at 400°F for 25 minutes.
